Meet Contestant #3 of the Young Event Horse Challenge!

Meet Contestant #3 of the Young Event Horse Challenge!

Emma originally comes to us from Florida, moving to Georgetown last fall. She just completed her first BN horse trial with a horse we helped her find last summer, Alpine Ski. Emma comes to us from the Hunter world so we’re thrilled to have her converted! (Eventing IS an addictive sport, isn’t it??)  We’re excited for Emma to get full into the eventing scene this year!

Emma has drawn Nightly News, aka Eve. Eve is out of our career broodmare Cameo, a gorgeous gray mare by Grindstone, a KY Derby winner. Eve is a Trakehner/TB cross by our stallion Nightfall (trakehner by the olympic event horse Windfall, out of Intermediate level event horse Hail to the Chief). Interestingly, we’re not convinced we know if Eve is bay or Gray still… Her mom at 8 yo is still a steel gray. Eve looks bay and was born with no white on her face…. Each year she grows a bit more of a blaze! Who knows??? Cameo is a brilliant type mare who passes intelligence and class onto all of her foals. We’re looking forward to working with Eve’s classy, intellectual personality in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned tomorrow for contestant #4 of 6!
