Results from the day so far…
Training Level CT… Andrea Johnson and Laissez Faire top a great division, leading from start to finish on her 32.3! Holly Wiedemann and Journey’s End finished second on her dressage score of 39.6 with the biggest movement in placings of the level, moving up from 5th after dressage to 2nd after show jumping.
Novice Level HT… Katie Wainscott and Karol Wilson ended their days where they started, tieing for 1st place in the Novice HT. Both had beautiful XC rounds, and Katie could be heard around the course with tons of “good boys” in the process. 🙂 Kim Branscom came 3rd and was awarded the Best XC award, and Sloane Simon catchrode Wapentake to finish 4th on her dressage score.
BN Junior HT… 11yo Hayden Simon and her pinto pony That’s Amore continued their winning streak by leading start to finish in this division, finishing on their dressage score of 34. This pair is undefeated in HT’s this year! Georgia Skelton finished 2nd, also on her dressage score, on a finishing score of 37.1.
BN Senior HT… Amy Wisehart rode Team CEO’s Lovesweetlove in her very first horse trial. Interestingly both Amy and 3rd placed rider Nicole Wozniak are accomplished polo players giving Eventing a try for the first time this weekend. Amy scored a 31 in dressage and took a commanding lead, adding nothing to their score to win by 9 points. Beverly Moore riding The Jumping Bean came second, finishing on their dressage score of 40.
In Starter Horse it was a close race all weekend, with Melissa Crase leading start to finish on her dressage score of 33, but Lucinda Lumpkin following close behind on her score of 34. Jennifer Graf made easy work of her first HT on Reilly, finishing on her dressage score of 37 for third place.
In Starter Rider B, the standings were shaken up in every phase. 10yo Alana Newcomb on the 24 yo pony Mighty Mouse stepped up to the plate by being one of only two riders to finish on their dressage score. They scored the win for the weekend, and it was highly emotional for many in the crowd, as many of the riders present (and moms) remember riding this pony in their first competitions. Indeed, his first win was 20 years ago! 12yo Michaela Reinhart rode Obie in his first HT to second place as the only other pair in the division to FODS.
In Green Starter Horse, Julie Congleton moved up from 2nd after dressage for the win, FODS. Mary Jane Nuckols finished 2nd on her young horse. The best XC award was given to Kimberly Cornelius on her chestnut mare, Sweepit.
Thanks for all who came!
