Team CEO welcomes Vortex to the world!
In a fitting twist of prophecy, yesterday we were all coming back from a hack when a small cylone of dust stirred up in front of the lower barn on the asphalt, and sat there spinning for about a minute.  We all watched, stunned… It was perhaps 3 feet wide by 15 feet high.  Little did we know that 24 hours later, we would have a Vortex of our own!

We have stayed up waiting for her arrival for 8 straight nights, and she’s finally here!   Vortex is by the Holsteiner stallion Riverman, who is the 2010 USEA Eventing Sire of the Year.  He sired 2 horses at the 2011 Rolex CCI****!  She is out of Sprite, our mare who is a sister to our first Advanced level eventer, Never Stop Dreaming.  We exported/sold NSD to the Belgian Olympic Team as a team horse, and is now eventing in Europe.

This little girl arrived at 5:45 this morning, during the most  beautiful sunrise.   She is gorgeous and athletic and talented, but seems to have inherited her dam’s wonderful temperament.  She is bay with a blaze and two right socks.   All of Sprite’s foals have been named after drinks, so Hayden suggested Snapple for a barn name—perfect!

Her blaze is crazy… She has a blaze shaped like a tornado, with twists at the bottom…  Thanks to Howard’s suggestion, her show name will be Vortex!
