Sunday Update from Aiken

Today was a GREAT day in Aiken!  In case anyone at home is a bit chilly, it was a sizzling 79 degrees here today!   We cooled down by spending the day lost in Hitchcock Woods.   The woods are an amazing preserve where foxhunting jumps, sand trails, and shad are abundant.   We took 11 horses out for a three hour trail ride, jump school, and gallop.   We had great fun,  and all of the horses and riders were terrific!  We covered miles of ground, had terrific conversation, and loved feeling the wind in our hair!

This group of women is nothing short of outstanding…  College students, PhD candidates, professors, architects, world-traveling consultants just returned from Asia, our two stellar working students, vet techs, professional riders,  myself, and many more terrific folks make up an incredibly colorful cast.  We summed it all up with a roaring group dinner at the Eastern Buffet.

Tomorrow is shopping day, plus lunch at one of my favorite restaurants.   After all, what’s a vacation without a little retail therapy?

We are having a terrific time, and wish all of our wonderful friends at home could be with us.  We are having a blast—wish you were here!
