Clinic This Weekend at DunLeigh Farm

I was thrilled to travel out of town on Saturday to do a Three Day Eventing clinic at DunLeigh Farm.  We organized it as an “Introduction to Eventing” clinic, so that riders in the area could come and get a great, confident start in eventing.

Dr.’s Annie and John Skaggs were our gracious hosts this weekend, and they were amazing!  Their farm is beautiful, and a picturesque setting for our day.  The weather was lovely with temperatures in the 60’s and a blessing of sunshine all day long.

The day begin with dressage in pairs, then show jumping in pairs.   We concluded with group cross country lessons around the farm’s brand new cross country course!   It was a tremendous day, and I was really thrilled to meet all of the wonderful riders and many auditors who came to the clinic.   Everyone did a wonderful job!

Thanks to our wonderful hosts, and all who attended!

(Thanks to Annie and Susan for the photos.    From top to bottom: Steph up the BN bank; John and “Patrick” up the mound, Annie and “Rudy” confidently over the new Bn/N ditch, Ashley warming up beautifully over a log, and Megan discussing with Pam and Annie.)

All of us out here in Campbellsville were thrilled to have the benefit of Megan’s expertise. Since Saturday I have been bombarded with calls and emails from people who were here and loved it and can’t wait to do it again. I know it is a long drive, but if any of you in Georgetown would like to plan a similar activity as a chance to get away from home in a safe and friendly setting…let me know. We are already plotting and planning to get Megan back here for more fun and learning.
