Lakeside Arena Jumpers

On Sunday, we took a trailer out to the Lakeside Arena Jumper Show to get a little practice and have a fun morning.

I took our two working students, Ali and Kat.

Ali rode her thoroughbred gelding Alex.    I was really proud of how well Ali rode, and Alex was trying really hard to be careful!   In 6 rounds he only had a total of 2 rails! She was 1st and 2nd in the 3’6″ jumpers, and crowned 3’6″ jumper champion!

Kat rode The Simon Family’s thoroughbred gelding Lismore.   Together they were 1st and 3rd in the classes of 2’6″ jumpers!!!    They also won the Gamblers’ Choice Jumpers!

I have to admit, I was a bit naughty.  Of all of the young, green babies I could take, Ali put the idea in my head that I should take my favorite little paint horse, Boscoe.    Boscoe doesn’t exactly need mileage (though he is 5yo) and isn’t exactly difficult or needing a pro ride, but I have to admit that I took him purely to have fun on!    Sometimes professionals tend to lose sight of that when it becomes your job…    Boscoe, of course, was an absolute blast!   He did the 3’3″ jumpers, coming 1st and 2nd.   He was 2nd in the Gambler’s Choice.   He also did the 3’6″ jumpers for the first time, and came 2nd and 3rd.   He was terrific and only had three rails in all of those classes…. He is such a fun guy!

Special thanks to Sloane who went along to cheer & groom! You were absolutely sensational!

We had a terrific time….   The girls did a GREAT job!   Must try this again soon…..
