Antebellum Combined Test

I was out of town this Sunday, but a few of our students ventured over to take part in the Antebellum CT just a couple of miles down the road.    We had a large contingency of Green Starter riders at Antebellum!   Great to see so many folks getting their start in eventing!

First off in Green Starter…  Congrats to Phil & Dexter for placing 6th in what I think is Phil’s first combined test!!!  Phil is new to our sport, and it is so exciting to see someone discover how addictive eventing is!   Congratulations to Phil!

Onto the Novice…  HUGE excitement for Holly & Stylish Dreamer as she has worked SO hard to improve this new horse….     They rode in the Open Novice, and scored a terrific 30.9 in dressage!!!!     Double clean in SJ put them in 3rd place in a very competitive division…. Congrats on the terrific improvement!

Then for Training Level… Holly Wiedemann and Journey’s End competed in the Training Level Combined Test.  They’ve worked so hard on their dressage, and improved their marks to a 38.0!   They had a terrific show jumping round….   Trevor is quite hot, so Holly managed to go nice and gently, and actually picked up a couple of time penalties–what an accomplishment when you’re riding one of the hottest horses you’ll ever meet!  🙂   Congratulations to Holly on a great round, and on finishing 8th!

I scribed for the Stadium Judge and was impressed with the jumping performances of all the Team CEO riders. Megan, you would have been proud! Holly W. on Trevor made the Training course look easy; Mr. & Mrs. Stobbs both had strong showings too!
