After years of hard work and some exceptional help this year from Kim Severson (**** eventing) and Reese Stanfield (GP dressage), Nemo and Megan have been selected to the Developing Rider List this year!!  Sixteen horses and riders were chosen of 47 applications.   We are so excited that Nemo will be able to train with Captain Mark Phillips this year!!

We are absolutely giddy… What an incredible opportunity…  Nemo has worked so hard this year, and has really come into his own.  It is such a privilege and an honor…  What a great reward for such an amazing horse.

What an amazing year this could be… Thank you so much for everyone who supported us in 2008… Our wonderful farrier John Norris, our wonderful vet Chris Newton, my great coaches mentioned above, Austin and Howard who are the two most supportive men any woman could ever have, all of my fabulous superstar working students, our wonderful boarders and students.

    Awesome.

And, while there are some big $$ horses on that list, you made it with a cheap claimer from Fairmont and his backup off the killer truck from Turfway — both of whom you personally selected, trained, and developed. You earned it.

Happy New Year! Congratulations on a well deserved recognition. And surely this is just a step along the way to even greater things.

So what will this mean in practical terms? Where and when will you we be able to watch for your progress?

Annie — I’ll defer to Megan to answer specifically, but in general it means that she’ll train with Captain Phillips and the US Equestrian Team staff. The program is intended to identify and provide world class instruction to potential US team members. Her competition schedule probably won’t change (look at her calendar, she’s already planning for the big venues) but where/when may change depending on when team training sessions are scheduled.
