Team CEO Annual Fall Foxhunt

It’s time to have our Fall Foxhunt again!!  We’re looking to set up a day of wondeful fun… Offering cross country schooling of our entire course, Starter to Preliminary, fun, and comraderie.  We’ll set off as a group and offer cross country jumping and trail riding all over the farm.  At the completion of the jumping, we’ve come up with a new scavenger hunt this year (to replace the Corn Maze from last year, since there’s no corn this year!) with great fun for all.  Prizes!  Then lunch and cider, voting and awards, and a wonderful afternoon of riding, spending time with your friends and horse, and enjoying the fall weather.

YAY!! I’ll be there! I was so bummed to miss last year’s since it looked like so much fun, but I will definitely be around for this one. Are we doing a potluck lunch? What can I bring? 😀 Can’t wait!

  4. WOW, what an amazing day…. How often do you get weather that is 75 and sunny in Novemer???

We had a wonderful big group of riders turnout for the foxhunt today. A great time was had by all, especially around the steeplechase course! Then we had a scavenger hunt!

Winning the scavenger hunt at a blistering pace was Madeline Walzem and Bernie. Holly and Trevor came galloping up, paper letters in mouth, for a very close second place. Ali and Marian both posted very fast times as well. Marian definitely had the most creative and amusing way of carrying the letters that were collected… Becca and Holly were carrying them in her mouth and Sarah in her vest, but Marian started pulling some out of her pants?? 🙂

Afterwards, everyone joined round to use the new wash rack, then dive into refreshments provided by Howard, and homemade cookies and cakes mady by Quin, Sarah, Chelsea, and Maddy. WOW! It was amazing. Then each rider did a secret ballot vote for five categories for the day…. AND THE WINNERS WERE:

Boldest Pair: Holly Wiedemann & Trevor, who attacked the course and easily conquered the giant steeplechase.

Most Tactful Ride: Chelsea Brant and her 4yo TB Benny, who is just a couple weeks off the track and wanted to what kind of race this was, with horses going over hurdles every which direction???

Best Turnout: Holly Werner’s Zephyr, who was a superstar all day and has gained so much confidence… He just eats up the jumps now!

Best Dressed: Becca Zeitlin & Chris, who helped us as Whipper In over the pony brigade 🙂

Best Field Hunter: Marian Zeitlin & Dapple Apple. Awarded to the pair who was most dependable and consistent, like a field hunter.

Annie had major breakthroughs with Thatcher today, and did awonderful job riding. John and Patrick have grown by leaps and bounds, and did a wonderful job as hilltoppers. Michaela/Mouse and Joe/Zack were a fabulous pair, and the two ponies counted as one horse in the scavenger hunt! 🙂 They were both amazing and jumped the entire Green Starter course with ease. Ali/Alex had a great time, and Sarah catchrode Basil and had a great time! Quin did a wonderful job with Indy, and had great fun.

    Congratulations to all!
