Congratulations to Heather and her trainer Angela on the purchase of our young superstar, Wasabi! They are adoreable together!! Wasabi evented and showed in hunters with our working student, Maddy. I love Wasabi—he is such a fun ride, and such a magnificent jumper! I can’t wait to hear big updates from this new pair.

Baby, it’s cold outside!! December 11, 2008
Cold and dark outside??? Neverfear, we’re working hard to make things fabulous for you. Despite the colder-than-normal temperatures for Kentucky for this time of year, riding continues to be busy busy busy! We have poured plenty of money, hours, and sweat equity into treating the arena for the weather, and we are running the drag each morning. So you can rest assured that you’ll be ready to ride, no matter how cold!
Also, for those of you who work so very hard till so very late… There are lights in the dressage arena. While we are scheming on an upgrade, for the meantime there are lights which can be plugged in behind the dressage judge’s booth. The girls and I have ridden past dark quite a few nights this past week, and it worked really well. So don’t shy away from late night riding… We’d still love to have you join us.
And everyone, keep in mind that we have the Barn Party at 1pm on Saturday. Also, 2pm Sunday for Games Day. Hope to see you then!

Au Revoir to Au Contraire December 2, 2008
It was a bit of an emotional evening, but our beloved Au Contraire (aka Relish aka Beefcake aka Beef) is presently on his way to his new home in Dallas, TX. He is such a special boy… Who hasn’t ridden beef??? Beefcake made quite a wave at Team CEO, carrying MANY of our riders to their first beginner novices, their first novices, their first trainings. He helped so many of us gain confidence and a love for the sport… We have always trusted him to carry riders from 6 years old to 60 years young, and everything in between, and I can happily say that he’s never let us down. He has worn so many hats–how many horses could take a young rider (Jacquie) to her first Preliminary CT one weekend (and ribbon!), and the next weekend fill in for lesson horses at Pony Camp??? Beef will always be remembered for his incredibly tolerance, his infinite patience, and his fancy jump. He had the most remarkable ability to give any rider confidence… I can recall putting dozens of students on him, all with great success! Deidre is going to adore him as much as we do!
Sarah and I are already mourning… And I’m sure Belinda will be mourning him on another continent…
Best wishes with your darling new partner!
