Chelsea & Caleb:  Puddle Jumper Horse.  N Test A.   Hill arena.  1:18, 2:54, 5:39.
Mike & Spud:  Puddle Jumper Rider.  BN A.  Hill arena.  12:18, 1:54, 4:57.
Maddy & Visa:  Leaper Horse.  BN B.  Hill arena.  9:12, 10:42, 3:00.

Sounds like we have three courses to walk….  Grass (Joe, Hope)…  Puddle (Chelsea, Mike)…  Leaper (Maddy, Sarah, Hannah)…  Would it be possible to walk XC courses on Friday, or should we do it on Saturday?  (Seems like there are a LOT of rides on Saturday to contend with, and might be nice to know where we are going ahead of time.)

Weekend Wrap Up September 22, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — widespreadpanic @ 8:43 am

All sorts of fun stuff to report!

Kim Branscom and Trooper had a really impressive weekend…. They have worked so hard on their dressage, and the hard work is paying off!!!  They scored a great 36 in their dressage!  The show jumping course proved very challenging, and there were many eliminations, time faults, and rails.   Not for Kim!!  They jumped double clear in SJ only to advance onto a wonderful, rhythmical double clean cross country round!!  They had an excellent weekend, finishing on their dressage score of 36 to finish tied for 5th place in their division!  Congrats!   (Kim shown here conquering the log into water at Flying Cross.)

Ali and Alex sound like they had a fun weekend… I’d love to hear more from the source, but the word on the street says that Alex finished in 3rd place in the Secretariat Look Alike Contest this weekend!  (At right, Megan and Oliver make new friends.)

I am back on the farm and thrilled to be home.  I am looking forward to teaching this week, and will be available for Tues/Wed lessons.    (At left, Chelsea and Basil in their lesson today.)

Hope  & Quin sound like they’ll be manning a tack sale table at the Not Very Scary HT this weekend.   I am also working on compiling a list of saddles and equipment for sale, and will be advertising it at shows and online.  I have to do this for my own stuff anyway, so if anyone would like to add anything on the list, let me know.  It’s turning out to be quite fun…. I will post it in the barn as soon as it is completed, in case anyone would like to do a bit of shopping.  So far we have a really interesting, useful list going on!  (I’m having fun.)    (Above right, Maddy and Bernie today.)

Nikki and Oliver had a great cross country schooling today at Flying Cross…. I got the chance to ride him–what a talented young horse!  They were brilliant, and got to school some of the Prelim stuff.   (At left, Nikki and Oliver cross country schooling.)

I am very excited about the Not Very Scary MT this weekend.  Caleb (aka Lub Lub, aka Tiny) is debuting this weekend.  I can’t wait to see he and Spud together!!!  How exciting!

Team CEO Weekly Update September 12, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — widespreadpanic @ 3:56 am

Hi all!!!   Chelsea and I are missing you all a ton while we’re away in Virginia.  As posted in an earlier post, I will miss the lessons on Sept 9, 10, 16, 17 at the farm, but life will return as normal for lessons on the 23rd.

I am tremendously excited for the Not Very Scary MT in Paris in a few weeks… What an exciting debut it will be for Caleb!  Caleb is the very, very oversized paint/draft in the front field, whom the Goodwins have nicknamed as “Tiny”.  haha    He and Spud should make a triumphant team at the Starter level, don’t you think??    Sarah will be taking LInguine there, which should be promising after his absolutely breathtaking dressage test at Kentucky Classique!!  Maddy will be taking Visa to dust off the cobwebs, and the pair of young Trakehners should be quite amusing!  Hannah promises to be the anchor of the team!!!

This month will be great fun… We will all be prepping for the MT as well as Jumpstart HT.   We are eagerly searching for new horses for Quin and Chelsea, which is always an exciting but somewhat nervewrecking process.  Kirk has been an absolute gem and will return to Annie this week as a quite and confident young man–I know she will have a blast with him. (Though it sounds like she’s having even more fun with a very special young chestnut who is near and dear to my heart!)

I am already looking forward to the early November version of the Lakeside Arena HJ Show.  I think we’ll have quite a few young horses who will want to go to get their feet wet, and I am secretly hoping that we’ll have a great group of junior riders debuting there on the ponies!!  How fun would that be???

Ooooh, more gossip!!!!  Has anyone noticed what Ashley Sager has been galloping around the farm on lately???? Any guesses?

If you need anything, please contact the girls, Austin, or Howard.  I will answer all emails happily, but sadly I do not have any slight ounce of cell phone reception here, so I can’t even check voicemail.  We are that far out in the middle of nowhere!!  :)   We miss you and hope to see you soon.
